2/22/2024: Detected in one or more of the analyzed soil samples at concentrations above the laboratory RLs and/or at trace concentrations.
Substance: Toluene is a highly-flammable and odorous liquid, used widely as a solvent in lacquers, glues, paints and paint thinners.
Exposure Pathways & Community Considerations: Toluene can migrate from contaminated soil and groundwater into indoor air (vapor intrusion).

Breathing air contaminated by car exhaust, cigarette smoke, or industrial emissions.
Contaminated Water: Drinking groundwater polluted by leaking underground storage tanks (gas stations) or industrial spills.
Risk to Human Health: Exposure can cause neurological effects like dizziness, headaches, and narcosis, with severe risks from long-term exposure.
Chronic (Long-term): Daily, long-term exposure can cause fatigue, memory loss, hearing loss, and color vision loss.
Safety Risk: High exposure during pregnancy may harm the developing fetus. Neurotoxic skin and respiratory irritant.
This report presents a summary of work conducted by PARTNER. The work includes observations of site conditions encountered and the analytical results provided by an independent third-party laboratory of samples collected during the course of the project. The number and location of samples were selected to provide the required information. It cannot be assumed that the limited available data are representative of subsurface conditions in areas not sampled.
